Child Care Resource and Referral Service

With over 2,900 calls from parents seeking child care the resource and referral staff helped find care for 4,152 children last year. Resource and Referral staff fielded 6,380 technical assistance calls from both providers and parents. We are told by providers that our lines provide them with the bulk of their clients. We are also there to support child care providers with help with everything from child development to rates.

Enhanced Military Program
Enhanced referrals for military parents needing quality child care. Providing parents with available child care slots, verifying registration fees, prices and other pertinent information families may be requesting. Be sure your provider profile is updated--this is vital to the searches we provide all families!
Child Care Provider Training Academy
STARS and CDA classes are offered throughout the community to support child care providers in their education requirements. These are offered in the 11 STARS areas and 8 CDA areas and cost $10 per hour. They can be from 2 hour workshops to all day trainings. For a list of classes & online registration, click here.
Army Child Care In Your Neighborhood

Army Child Care in Your Neighborhood (ACCYN) Project was designed to create much needed quality child care for Army families living off-base. This project is the result of a partnership between the United States Army, National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies and CCAC.
Army-affiliated child care centers and family child care homes will receive free training, technical assistance and incentives throughout the program, to help achieve national accreditation and/or a Child Development Associate credential. Army families pay reduced fees, comparable to those charged
on-post. Through the NACCRRA Fee Assistance program, ACCYN providers will be paid the difference between families’ fee and their fee.

Supporting Successful Relationships
Consultation in your home or center to promote children’s social/emotional skills. Click here for more information about this program.
Child Care Inclusion
Welcoming children with disabilities into child care settings, includes monthly Cohort meetings and STARS trainings as well as consultation on providing care for children with special needs.
Raising a Reader
The Raising A Reader mission is a simple one addressing a national need for effective pre-literacy programs. One in three children entering kindergarten lacks basic pre-reading skills, and almost half of low-income children are read to less than three times a week. As a result, many of these children never develop strong reading skills, a key factor in determining high-school graduation and life-long success.
Safe Kids
Safe Kids exists to eliminate accidental childhood injury and death. Safe Kids is a network of community partners dedicated to preventing accidental injury to children ages 14 and under. Through this program, Child Care Action Council provides wheeled sport safety information and low cost helmets; child passenger safety information and reduced price car seats (income qualification required); water safety information and low cost life jackets and more.
