Parent Resources
In addition to providing up-to-date information about childcare, Child Care Action Council also supports other programs promoting the overall well-being of children and their families.
Safe Kids exists to eliminate accidental childhood injury and death. Safe Kids is a network of community partners dedicated to preventing accidental injury to children ages 14 and under. Through this program, Child Care Action Council provides wheeled sport safety information and low cost helmets; child passenger safety information and reduced price car seats (income qualification required); water safety information and low cost life jackets and more. Featuring an interactive exhibit providing families with young children ages 8 months to 8 years a rich, hands-on math and science learning opportunity. BLOCKFest has been shown to increase parent knowledge of early development in the areas of math and science education, while providing opportunities to increase social skills and literacy opportunities for young children. The importance of young children developing basic abilities in literacy and numeracy in the early years is recognized globally. As an award winning and research- based program, BLOCKFest offers the opportunity for parents to help their children become math and science thinkers.
