Explore shapes and squeeze glue while creating a melting snowman. This activity is perfect to pair with the changing seasons as the winter snow begins to melt and we welcome spring weather. This activity supports cognitive development by not only learning about shapes and colors but also talking about their memories of snow days and discovering cause and effect of snow melting under the warm sun.
The Child Care Action Council will be serving up fun and generosity for their 11th Annual Warm Hearts Luncheon, raising funds for their early learning Family Services program. Community members will come together for kids on Thursday, February 21 from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the Lacey Community Center.

This week, our playgroup families created felted soap with our Raising A Reader coordinator! This is a fun and simple project that young kids can do with guidance. Plus, felted soaps make great gifts. Our playgroup families will be making lots more felted soaps for our annual Kids Art Show at Spring Arts Walk 2019!

Check out this book of the month, “Going Places” by Peter and Paul Reynolds, selected for you from our Raising A Reader program. This book is from our STEM collection and brings a fun introduction to engineering to your child.
Our Caring Kids spread some holiday cheer at Panorama's Convalescent & Rehabilitation Center on December 8th. Children sang carols as well as visited one-on-one with the residents.
On November 17, 2018, we held our first Caring Kids family volunteer project: Cards of Kindness, sending holiday wishes and thanks to service members deployed abroad.
