The Caring Kids family volunteer program teaches children the value of serving others in their community. Now in its fifth month, the Caring Kids program of the Child Care Action Council has partnered with several different nonprofit organizations to give back.
Families of children in the Raising A Reader program with the Child Care Action Council came together at the Lacey Timberland Library to celebrate the end of a successful year of reading together at home.
Explore shapes and squeeze glue while creating a melting snowman. This activity is perfect to pair with the changing seasons as the winter snow begins to melt and we welcome spring weather. This activity supports cognitive development by not only learning about shapes and colors but also talking about their memories of snow days and discovering cause and effect of snow melting under the warm sun.
The Child Care Action Council will be serving up fun and generosity for their 11th Annual Warm Hearts Luncheon, raising funds for their early learning Family Services program. Community members will come together for kids on Thursday, February 21 from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the Lacey Community Center.

This week, our playgroup families created felted soap with our Raising A Reader coordinator! This is a fun and simple project that young kids can do with guidance. Plus, felted soaps make great gifts. Our playgroup families will be making lots more felted soaps for our annual Kids Art Show at Spring Arts Walk 2019!
