July 17, 2019 - Child Care Action Council announced today that it will partner with Capital Region Educational Service District 113’s Sound to Harbor Early Learning Programs to operate the Shelton Head Start center. This new partnership will ensure that low-income families will continue to have access to high-quality, no-cost preschool in the community.
As summer break kicked off for many Thurston County students, Safe Kids Thurston County, a program of Child Care Action Council, created an entire event focused on how to stay safe this summer. The free family event took place in the hanger bay at McLane Black Lake Fire Department and also across the street at Discover Aquatics on June 22, 2019.

Over the past few weeks, Child Care Action Council has been receiving nominations for Child Care Providers who have made an impact on the lives of children in their care. In honor of Child Care Provider Appreciation Day (May 10th), listed below are the nominations of providers who nurture, teach, and care for children in their care.
The Caring Kids family volunteer program teaches children the value of serving others in their community. Now in its fifth month, the Caring Kids program of the Child Care Action Council has partnered with several different nonprofit organizations to give back.
